Spotify Wins CNCF Top End User Award for the Second Time!

November 8, 2023 Published by Dave Zolotusky, Principal Engineer & CNCF Technical Oversight Committee Representative

This week at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon in Chicago, the Cloud Native Computing Foundation announced that Spotify won their Top End User Award. This is the second time we’ve received the honor, having previously won the award in 2021 — and we are even more proud this time around as it’s a testament to our continued commitment to the cloud native ecosystem and open source community.

Since winning the first time, we’ve made huge strides in helping to make Backstage the standard for internal developer portals and developer experience. We’ve also significantly increased our adoption of cloud native technology, and we remain active across the cloud native community, with Spotifiers making more than 23,000+ contributions to CNCF projects like Envoy and Kubernetes in 2023 alone. We’re honored and grateful for this recognition by more than 150 of our peers for our contributions to the CNCF and the open source community.
